Pink's New LP Due In October, Video For 'So What' To Premiere On 'FNMTV' Next Month

Pink's seen a lot — she's had hits, misses, love and loss — and now she's saying, "So What"?

The singer, who separated from her husband Carey Hart earlier this year, has been hard at work recording a new album, which she's planning to release October 28, her record label announced Wednesday (July 23). There's no title yet for that album, Pink's fifth, but the first single and video are called "So What."

"So What" isn't just Pink's return to radio — it also marks her return to working with Max Martin, who produced the song (which Pink co-wrote). Martin teamed with the singer on her 2006 LP, I'm Not Dead, on the songs " 'Cuz I Can," "Who Knew" and "U + Ur Hand," the last two of which were hit singles.

Pink's also been writing and recording with much of her I'm Not Dead team, including Billy Mann (who co-wrote eight songs, including "Stupid Girls" on that album), Butch Walker (who co-wrote two songs) and EG White (who most recently worked with Duffy), among others.

For the "So What" video, Pink is also reteaming with director Dave Meyers, who shot the clips for "U + Ur Hand" and "Stupid Girls," the latter of which garnered scads of media attention for the singer for its spoofs of starlets such as Paris Hilton, Jessica Simpson and Lindsay Lohan, and its encouragement for girls to be smart and rebellious.

"So What" is slated to hit radio in early August and will be available for sale digitally by the middle of that month, but MTV — or rather, "FNMTV" — will have the video first: "So What" will premiere on "FNMTV" later that month, after which MTV will have the exclusive broadcast of the video for 72 hours. Prior to that, Pink will be a guest commentator on the show July 25 and August 1.
